Privacy Policy for APEX QUERY
Effective Date: July 18, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to APEX QUERY, a Native Application published by Apex Query LLC on the Snowflake Marketplace. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you install and use our application within your Snowflake environment.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Unlike traditional SaaS applications, APEX QUERY is designed to operate securely within your Snowflake account.
- Customer Data: We do not have access to, nor do we collect, the underlying data, tables, views, or databases stored within your Snowflake account.
- Credentials: We do not collect or store your Snowflake login credentials.
- Query Content: We do not access, read, or transmit the content or results of your SQL queries.
3. Information We Do Collect
We collect minimal administrative and telemetry data to provide, maintain, and improve our application:
- Installation Details: Account Locator, Organization Name, and the version of the application installed.
- Usage Telemetry: Aggregate metrics on feature usage (tabs visited, filters applied, assessments run), application session duration, and error logs generated by the application. This data is stored locally within the application's internal schema in your Snowflake account and is not accessible by Apex Query unless you explicitly authorize telemetry sharing.
- Support Information: Contact details, support tickets, and system logs shared with us if you request technical assistance.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To deliver, operate, and maintain the application's functionality.
- To provide technical support and troubleshoot issues.
- To improve our application and develop new features based on aggregated usage trends.
- To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Because the application runs locally in your environment, we do not share your data. Telemetry data collected by the application remains within your Snowflake account unless you explicitly authorize data sharing through the Snowflake Native App data sharing authorization flow. We will only disclose your information in the following limited circumstances:
- Opt-In Telemetry Sharing: If you explicitly authorize the application's telemetry shareback reference, aggregate usage telemetry may be transmitted to our provider account for product improvement purposes. This authorization can be revoked at any time.
- Service Providers: Third-party service providers acting on our behalf (e.g., cloud hosting, customer support platforms), strictly bound by confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.
6. Data Storage and Security
All processing of your data occurs entirely within your own Snowflake account. The application reads from Snowflake system views (ACCOUNT_USAGE, ORGANIZATION_USAGE) using grants you authorize at installation. No data leaves your account unless you explicitly enable telemetry sharing. Any telemetry data transmitted to our provider account is encrypted in transit and at rest, and is protected using industry-standard security measures. Telemetry data retained in our provider account is subject to a rolling retention policy and is automatically purged after 90 days.
7. Your Data Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the telemetry and support data we hold about you. Because we do not store your core data, requests to access or delete underlying database contents must be managed directly by your internal Snowflake Administrator. To revoke telemetry sharing at any time, use the application's built-in sharing controls or drop the application from your account.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.
